Year 3's R.E. day!

Year 3 had a fantastic  day yet again with Matt from Southampton City Mission

The children explored the Easter story through role play and 'magic eggs'

Year 4 visited the Vedic Society Hindu Temple to support the topic this half-term, India. We all found the experience very relaxing and loved seeing the pictures and statues of the Gods first-hand. The children's sketches reflected their fascination with this exotic culture and everyone learnt something new (even the adults!).

It's Cosmic!

It’s Cosmic!

In Year 5, we have been learning about Space. We have been looking at the orbits of the Sun, Moon and Earth.

Did you know, the more recent understanding of the Solar System (Heliocentric Model) states that the Sun is the centre of our Universe (and we orbit around the Sun) – Clever old Copernicus!

As part of our project, we visited the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium, where they have a 360 degree planetarium screen. There were all sorts of amazing science activities there!

In addition, we have been following the journey of astronaut, Timothy Peake, whilst he is up in the International Space Station. Did you know, he has made history as he is the first British born person to visit the I.S.S. We learnt lots of interesting facts about him, when we wrote his biography.
